About

The Border Watch is South Australia’s largest regional newspaper with a reach of more than 25,000 people, published four days a week Tuesday to Friday.

The 2000 – 2001 newspaper readership study conducted by The Gallup Organisation states: “The Border Watch reaches the vast majority of Mount Gambier residents with every issue. In fact, three quarters of Mount Gambier residents read a typical issue of The Border Watch, giving it one of the highest Average Issue Readerships in Australia.”

Equidistant between Melbourne and Adelaide, Mount Gambier is the major business and industrial centre serving the South East of South Australia and Western Victoria.

A broad economic base and supporting infrastructure accounts for a higher population density than is normally associated with the rural sector and secures Mount Gambier’s future as the centre of commerce and industry in the South East and Western Victorian regions.

The Border Watch has an average audited circulation of 7319 per edition.
