Woman driver causes four-car pile-up

Police attended the scene of a minor motor vehicle collision involving four vehicles on the corner of White Avenue and Ritana Road at 3.38pm on Friday.
A 31-year-old Mount Gambier woman is believed to have caused the collision by rear-ending one vehicle which then shunted another in front, causing that motor vehicle to hit another which made contact with the fourth vehicle.
There were no serious injuries from the collision with minor panel and radiator damage to the vehicles.
In other police news, a 30-year-old Mount Gambier woman was arrested at 9.45pm on Friday for aggravated assault and throwing a missile following a disturbance earlier in the week. The woman was bailed and will appear at court at a later date.
A 47-year-old Mount Gambier man was arrested following a disturbance on Parkway Avenue at 11.35pm on Friday. The man was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor (DUI) and resisting police. The man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.217, over four times the legal limit. He was issued with an instant 12-month licence disqualification and had his motor vehicle impounded. He was bailed and will appear in court at a later date.
