Wellbeing focus for Mental Health Week

The message that mental health is everyone’s responsibility, will be promoted in the South East next week as part of national Mental Health Week.

South East Mental Health Week committee member Sarah Lynne said Mental Health Week from October 5 – 11 was about getting everyone to ask themselves what they did to maintain wellbeing.

“It’s all about recognising that good mental health needs to begin with yourself, and can be achieved through taking time out to develop new interests and do the things that make you feel good,” Ms Lynn said.

A range of activities to promote mental health will take place during the week, including Hugs Day at the Centro shopping centre on Tuesday and a family fun day in Millicent on Sunday.

The program will also feature a Young Carers Day, a boutique sale and a community garden tea and animal farm.
