Mount Gambier City Council’s planning assessors failed to reach a decision on the $20m redevelopment of the old hospital site late on Thursday night, again moving to lay the controversial proposal on the table.
It is the second time the Development Assessment Panel (DAP) has failed to reach a decision, opting again to ask the proponents for more information.
While there was a feeling among the gallery last night that a decision would possibly be made in favour of the development, DAP chair Paul Jenner said today the panel had yet to reach the point of making a decision.
“We need to look at the development as it stacks up against the development plan,” Mr Jenner said this morning.
“It is vital we take all the emotion and the previous events out of it so we just look at the development which has been put forward.”
He said the panel had asked the developers to provide information on 12 different issues.
Once this information was received, he said the DAP would again sit to consider the proposal.
