It was a car lover’s paradise on the weekend as South East Street Machines (SESM) held their 30th annual Show ‘n Shine.
SESM president Neil Morrison said organisers were pleased with attendance numbers and the quality of motor vehicles on display.
“There was a steady stream of people through the gates so we’d estimate about 3000 people attended over the weekend,” he said.
“Everybody was really pleased and it all looked pretty good.”
Mr Morrison said the show stopper was Holden’s showcase vehicle, the EFIJY.
“The EFIJY was the highlight, certainly a lot of other cars were very, very popular too,” he said.
“Holden were very happy with the way we presented the EFIJY and looked after it.”
People of all ages came through the gates with the kids colouring-in competition keenly contested.
However, Mr Morrison said it was not all good news for some exhibitors.
“The hard luck trophy went to one of our members Peter van den Hoogen who hit a kangaroo in his 1970 HG Holden Premier on the way home,” Mr Morrison said.
“His partner was travelling in another car and hit a kangaroo too.”
Plans are already under way for next year’s Show ‘n Shine.
