A Millicent woman had to be cut out of her vehicle after she was involved in a two-car collision on Saturday.
The 41-year-old was trapped for about half an hour after the vehicle she was driving collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Bowmans Road and Southern Ports Highway about 9am.
The woman was taken by ambulance to Mount Gambier Hospital suffering chest and leg injuries.
It was later revealed the woman sustained fractured ribs and other soft tissue injuries indicative of seatbelt trauma.
SA Ambulance Service South East media liaison Glen Sparks said the woman was lucky and thanked Country Fire Service volunteers for their efforts at the scene.
“I would just like to say a big thankyou to the CFS who did a really wonderful job,” Mr Sparks said.
The CFS were required to remove the vehicle’s roof and two doors before ambulance officers were able to extract the woman.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
