Naracoorte explosion investigated

Enquiries are continuing into the explosion of a letterbox in flats in Pethick Street, Naracoorte, on Saturday.

The letterbox was blown up at about 10.15pm while the owner was not home. The cause of the explosion is not known.

In other news from Naracoorte police, A local man was surprised when his vehicle caught fire while it was being driven on Thursday night. Police and the Country Fire Service attended the vehicle fire on Lucindale Road about five kilometres west of Naracoorte.

A Mazda RX-7 caught fire, with police enquiries resulting in the 23-year-old driver being spoken to in relation to his vehicle having been unregistered at the time.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage from the blaze.
