Sixteen-year-old drink driver arrested

A 16-year-old Mount Gambier youth was arrested at 4.50am today for illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicensed and drink driving.

Police stopped the vehicle on Gerloff Street to conduct a mobile driver screening test.

Checks revealed that the youth had taken and driven the motor vehicle without the permission of the owner. The youth recorded a breath analysis reading of 0.133.

In other news, police were called to Crafter Road, Compton, after an electricity pole and surrounding grass caught fire. CFS attended and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries or property damage.

    Sad to see that a drunk driving teen makes the headline, while an accident where someone is critical only gets to bottom portion of the story…
    I saw that accident yesterday. And it looked REALLY bad.
    Brings back bad memories seeing the car like that.
