Land purchase will aid road safety

Four sections of land on the corner of Worrolong and Attamurra Roads may soon be acquired by Grant District Council to improve the safety of the intersection.
Council chief executive Russell Peate said it was likely the intersection would be widened to include turning lanes.
The small slivers of land are privately owned and Council has begun negotiations with landowners for the transfer.
The smallest section is 118sq metres and the largest 143sq metres.
Mr Peate said he didn’t forsee any problems with the land acquisition and the entire Worrolong Road project should be finished by June 2009.
