Robinson wins veterans event

The South East Tennis Seniors held its final event for 2008 recently at the Wattle Range courts.

In the men’s final, Murray Robinson scored over Alan Schultz, while in the corresponding women’s event, Kerrie McDonald defeated Neica Evans.

Following the tournament, the tennis veterans enjoyed a Christmas barbecue where popular member, Harold Ball was presented with a specially designed cake for his 88th birthday.

Next month, Ball will venture to the state’s capital to play in the Australian Seniors Tennis Championships.

Next local event for the South East Tennis Seniors will be held at Millicent on January 18.
