Drink driver nearly crashed into bedrooms

A Mount Gambier man who crashed his car into a raised garden bed at Short Street, Millicent, while allegedly drink driving on Sunday night will face court at a later date.
The incident occurred after the man allegedly smashed a window at a licensed premises and drove away.
Police said he crashed into the garden bed, narrowly missing two bedrooms at the front of the house.
No-one was injured as a result of the accident.
The man was arrested for property damage, dangerous driving, drink driving, failing to exchange particulars after a motor vehicle accident and failing to truly answer questions put to him by a police officer.
He allegedly had a blood alcohol reading of .206 and was issued with an immediate one-year licence disqualfication.
Police describe the man’s actions as foolish and said it was lucky nobody was was seriously hurt.
