A shed fire caused by the ignition of a DVD player in Ingram Street, Mount Burr, on Tuesday morning caused about $2000 of damage.
Mount Burr CFS attended the scene and the Millicent brigade was stop called as the shed owners were quickly alerted to the blaze and put it out themselves around 3.50am.
CFS volunteers checked for post-fire hotspots as a precaution.
It is believed the fire began when the DVD player shorted out.
Residents have been urged to ensure powerbox safety switches are fully functional and electrical appliances are turned off at the power point overnight.
