Funding for science labs welcomed

State Upper House MP Ian Hunter MLC has praised a Federal Government initiative to construct or upgrade science laboratories and language centres in schools.

Grant High School and Mount Gambier High School have won funding for science centres.

Mr Hunter said the allocation to Grant High was worth $1.1m.

“I was so pleased to hear about this money going to Mount Gambier’s schools,: Mr Hunter said.

“I’m a scientist by training, and began my career working in laboratories in Adelaide.

“I’m well aware of how important it is that school students are exposed to science from a young age, and are provided with the right environment to learn.”
