Tigers on the prowl for new coach
Posted on July 8, 2009, 6:06pm
The North Gambier Football Club will start its search for a new coach immediately after Mark Tyrrell announced he would not be seeking reappointment next year.
North president Peter Allen confirmed that Tyrrell (33) had told the club he would be moving to Darwin next year to increase his business opportunities.
Tyrrell took over at North from 2007 grand final coach Ian Stafford, but failed to get the Tigers into the 2008 finals series, with an 11 – 7 win-loss record.
North is currently clinging to fifth position with a 5 – 6 record after stopping a five match losing streak in its last game when it swamped West Gambier by 134-points.
