A Crystal Brook man is in a critical condition after suffering third degree burns to 36pc of his body in the early hours of Saturday.
The man, 48, received a series of burns to his head, ears, back and arms.
Mount Gambier police believe the burns were a result of paint thinner being added to a campfire in the Mount Gambier Showgrounds at about 1.10am.
The man was taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital and then flown to Adelaide.
A 23-year old Taperoo man also suffered burns to his hands and was treated at the Mount Gambier Hospital.
