Texan connection misspelt

Posted on November 12, 2009, 10:10am

Mount Gambier City Council will consider changing the spelling of Shalimar Crescent at Conroe Heights.

It is understood it should be spelt Shalamar Crescent, which was the name inspired from the City of Conroe in Texas.

Empak Homes adopted Conroe and street names in Conroe because South Australia and Texas were both celebrating their 150th jubilee in 1986.

Council will make a formal decision on Tuesday night.

What a pathetic point. Shalimar Crescent or Shalamar, who cares leave it as is no body has complained since 1986. there are bigger issues in council, like the bay road corner.
