Mount Gambier will host an AFL NAB Challenge pre-season match in 2010.
The competition, which consists of teams that have been bundled out of the NAB Cup, will see games held all over the country.
The Mount Gambier fixture will be played in week three of the competition on the weekend of March 12 – 13, with details to be confirmed.
AFL chief operating ffficer Gillon McLachlan said the league was eager to take games to areas that normally didn’t host AFL matches.
“The NAB Challenge is a vital development tool for the AFL to promote our game, our clubs and our players to areas that can’t normally access matches easily,” he said.
“The matches in regional SA, regional WA and regional Victoria will continue to be shared around different parts of each state to give the competition the widest exposure from year to year.”
