Final gig for Blame Johnny

One of Mount Gambier’s leading rock acts will play their final performance this weekend as they prepare to disband at the end of the year.
Blame Johnny has performed at hotels and other venues throughout the region, opening for The Screaming Jets and Butterfly Effect at the showgrounds and providing a local presence alongside national acts at the Blue Lake Blues and Roots Festival.
However, the four-piece, which formed early in 2007 and recently released an EP, will make Saturday night’s show at Penola’s Prince of Wales Hotel (December 19) their last.
“Blame Johnny would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported them over the last three years — it’s been an amazing experience that will never be forgotten,” vocalist Haylie Gregor, guitarist Tom McRobert, bassist John Pellen, and drummer Darrien Smith said in a statement.
They have called for fans of live music to help them celebrate the end of an era with their three-hour performance, including favourite covers, original tracks and a few new songs on Saturday night.
Entry to the hotel will be free on the night, with music starting at 9pm.
