Tarpeena to celebrate Australia Day

Australia Day will be celebrated in Tarpeena on January 26 with fun family activities, a barbecue and entertainment.
The day will start at 10.30am with a bike riding event by the Mount Gambier Cycling and Triathlon Club, followed by the Tarpeena Day Gift.
A barbecue, sweets and afternoon tea will be offered, while children can enjoy many activities including an egg and spoon race, a jumping castle, a ride on the merry-go-round and sack racing.
The City Pipe Band will add flavour to the day while the Pamela Walker Heritage Singers will sing the national anthem.
Other entertainment will include whip cracking and throwing wet sponges at a clown while raffles and other prizes will be up for grabs.
Grant District Council Australia Day award winners will be presented with their awards.
Entrance is free, but food will be on sale or available for a gold coin donation.
