A wheelchair-bound man has pleaded guilty to grabbing the breasts of a 15-year-old girl and touching a woman on the breasts with his arm.

The man, who cannot be named, had his bail application heard in the foyer of the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Tuesday because there is no wheelchair access to the upstairs courtroom.

He has pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault and one count of common assault.

The court heard the first count of indecent assault took place at Centro Plaza on July 24 when the defendant grabbed a 15-year-old girl on the breast.

The assault charge was laid after the defendant returned to Centro Plaza on July 28 and was ejected by the manager, who he grabbed by the arm as he was being removed.

He was arrested and granted police bail. He then went to Priceline and touched one of the sales staff on the breast with his arm.

Police prosecutor Constable David Galanos did not oppose bail, but asked that the defendant reside with his parents in Victoria.

Magistrate Bill Morris released the defendant on bail to live with his parents and not to be in Mount Gambier apart from for the purpose of court appearances and the preparation of a psychological report.

He must also not leave the bail address unless in the company of one of his parents.

“Based on these pleas and based on the information that I have, I think it’s appropriate that I order a preparation of a psychological report to address the defendant’s admitted behaviour in terms of the indecent assaults,” Mr Morris said.

He said it was important for the defendant to “deal with the issues of his conduct as soon as possible”.

He was remanded to reappear before the court again on September 19 for sentencing submissions.

All I can say, is he is very lucky it wasnt my daughter he touched. He’d be more than in a wheel chair by now !! I feel very sorry for that young girl. That is just disgusting. Well done to the judge who made sure this parasite wont be allowed out alone to pray on our children.
