Boy leads police in car chase

A 16-year-old boy was involved in a police motor pursuit this morning along Commercial Street West.

The driver was stopped and subsequently arrested for aggravated dangerous driving to avoid police, illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving with a prescribed concentration of alcohol, driving unlicensed, disobeying a reasonable direction and driving without due care.

The boy returned a breath analysis reading of 0.086 and was issued an immediate six-month licence disqualification. He was bailed from police custody and will appear in court at a later date.
