Orchid society stages spring show

The Millicent Orchid Society will hold its 21st annual Spring Show in the St Alphonsus Hall from October 4 to 6.

Domain playground’s official opening

Millicent’s new $0.55 million adventure playground, known as the “The Domain”, will be officially opened on Friday at 2pm.

The scheduled August opening was postponed due to poor weather forecasts and a delay in signage and the barbecue shelter. Read more

300-game milestone for Lisa Pratt

Lisa Pratt plays her 300th senior netball game for Millicent on Saturday.

Pratt is the third netball player to reach this milestone and will do it in the first semi-final clash against Hamilton where her side will be playing for a chance to make it through to the grand final. Read more

Kimberly-Clark Australia has won an award for the most innovative packaging waste management solution.

This is the second time that Kimberly-Clark has been recognised in the Evolution Awards after winning “Best in Personal Care” and “Best in Show” awards last year. Read more

Man injured in Millicent fire

A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with burns to his hand after a fire caused about $100,000 damage to a house in Millicent last night.

Wattle Range Country Fire Service (CFS) crews from Millicent and Argyle took just 20 minutes to control the blaze, which they believe started in or around the fireplace shortly after 7pm.

The man suffered slight burns to his hands and smoke inhalation.

Millicent nurse promoted

A senior staff member of Millicent and District Hospital has won promotion to another health facility in the region.

Registered nurse and midwife, Ang Cutting is the new Associate Clinical Nurse at Penola War Memorial Hospital. Read more

Cemetery tour gives insight

Family historians recently toured the “old” Millicent Cemetery to hear interesting stories of the past.
