Netball academy success

Last month, junior netballers from the South East Academy took part in regional competitions in Adelaide.
The best under 13, 15 and 17 players from the Western Border, Mid South East, Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara and Mount Gambier leagues came together to battle teams from Eyre, Lower North, Mount Lofty, Murray, Northern, Southern and Spencer regions on July 7 – 8 in a series of matches. Read more

MAY has been a month of milestones for the West Gambier Netball Club with four players celebrating various achievements so far this month.
Matches held on May 1 saw three players reach milestones including Liz Jarnevic (300 games), junior Monique Holmes (100) and B grade player Nat Philp-Dutton (100). Read more

James took to the court for her 400th game on Saturday, May 15, believed to be only the second person to do so in the Mid South East Netball League. Read more
McDonald Park receives facelift

McDonald Park will soon boast unprecedented netball facilities in the Western Border Netball Association construction of its new clubrooms set to be completed prior to the end of the season.
The 12 x 6.9 metre structure will feature changerooms, toilets and showers along with both indoor and outdoor sheltered viewing areas including a kitchenette. Read more
WBFL appoints netball director

The Western Border Football League has bolstered its stocks of directors, but is still on the lookout for more to reach its workable quota.
WBFL chief executive officer David Heard anounced yesterday that Heywood Football Netball Club stalwart Lynda Davis had accepted an offer to join the league’s board as director of netball. Read more
Crusaders plan 2010 campaign

The Volcanic Crusaders netball team didn’t return home from the World Masters Games in Sydney with a medal, but the players are happy with their efforts and are now focusing on making the trip to Alice Springs next year.
The Crusaders won nine of their 14 minor round games to reach the semi-finals and a chance for a medal, but lost both games to finish the competition in fourth position. Read more

The Volcanic Crusaders netballers left for Sydney this morning headed for the World Masters Games.
The Crusaders — consisting of Mid South East, Western Border and KNT players Kerry Smith, Narelle Ryan, Linda Boylan, Flo Atkinson, Nadene Long, Missy Neale and Leah Ousley, as well as three players from Sydney — are taking to the court in the 35 plus A grade division. Read more

Special milestone for young netballer

Versatile teenage netballer Rhiannon Primmer created history for the Saints Netball Club on Saturday when she became the first player to reach 100 games for the club.
Primmer, 14, began playing for Saints when they joined the Mount Gambier Netball Association in 2007, playing in the 13 and under A side. Read more
