The 2009 Limestone Coast Regional Visitor Guide will be available to the travelling public this week, just in time for the peak tourism season.
It’s the official guide for the region and forms an integral part of the strategic marketing campaign. It is developed in close consultation with the industry and is the only guide that covers the entire Limestone Coast. Read more

Dergholm fire covers 200 hectares

More than 100 firefighters worked overnight to control a blaze 12km southwest of Dergholm in the Dergholm State Forest.

Stratford contests state golf title

Six years after her first game, Blue Lake golfer Helen Stratford will head to the state’s capital searching for national glory.
Stratford recently won the Blue Lake round of the 2008 Fisher & Paykel Classic and on December 2 will play in the South Australian final, with a spot in the Australian final up for grabs. Read more
Majella Cabernet wins major prize

Majella’s 2006 Cabernet scooped the major prize pool at last night’s 2008 Limestone Coast Wine Show presentation feast at the Naracoorte Town Hall.
After being named ‘Best Red’ and ‘Best Cabernet Sauvignon’, the Coonawarra drop went on to claim the Bill Redman Trophy for ‘Best Wine of Show’, with Majella viticulturalist, Anthony Lynn, receiving the major award for the night — the highly coveted Arthur Hoffman Trophy for Viticulturalist of Best Wine of Show. Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Michael Paynter is on the longest tour of his career so far, supporting Shannon Noll on his No Turning Back tour.

The electronic spreadsheet enables farmers to enter their cost of production figures and calculate automatically their target net farm gate price. Read more
