A blitz of traders in the South East by the State’s consumer watchdog will ensure that local residents are getting a fair deal.
Compliance staff from the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs (OCBA) will be focusing on towns across the South East next week to check that traders aren’t compromising the rights of consumers. Read more
Murray Goulburn reveals WCB bid

Murray Goulburn Co-operative Co Limited (MGC) today advised its supplier-shareholders it has submitted a proposal to acquire all the shares in Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory Company Holdings Ltd (WCB).
The letter explained that MGC put a proposal to the WCB Board in December last year and that this proposal had been rejected. Read more

Success claimed with Fisheries blitz

Authorities have hailed a crackdown on illegal rock lobster fishing a resounding success, with 20 South East residents already in hot water for various alleged offences.
Limestone Coast Fisheries regional manager Mel Snart said this was just the tip of the iceberg, with more serious reports currently under investigation and prosecutions likely to be launched. Read more

Gas production ramps up

Adelaide Energy plans to double or even triple gas production from its Katnook plant near Penola in the coming months.
