To snip or not to snip — that is the decision a pro-circumcision Adelaide GP is throwing at South East men and parents of baby boys, 15 months after the procedure was “banned” from public hospitals in South Australia.
The “fairly simple” medical procedure, during which the foreskin of the penis is removed, sparked an emotional public debate when Health Minister John Hill announced on November 12, 2007 that cosmetic surgery, including circumcision, would no longer be provided at public hospitals unless true clinical grounds could be provided.
