Connected Service Centre opened

The new $10m Mount Gambier Connected Service Centre was officially opened today, five years after fire destroyed the previous government accommodation.

The Elizabeth Street building, which has a five-star energy rating and houses 90 staff, was officially opened by Labor MLC Bernard Finnigan. Read more

Construction boost for public housing

The State Government is undertaking its largest social housing infrastructure build in Mount Gambier for more than 20 years in a move to slash waiting times for public housing and provide accommodation for homeless youth.

New support for homeless young people

One of three new homes targeted at reducing youth homelessness across the state will be built in Mount Gambier, the State Government has announced.

Insulation sales go through the roof

The Border Watch today reported the story of a homeless man who has been living in his car at the Blue Lake Sports Park for several months.
