Motorbike parking bays discussed

Mount Gambier City Council has rejected a request by a Commercial Street East business to install a number of motorcycle-only parking bays.

This follows a request by business Bike Bling.

But council will explore the possibility of implementing motorcycle parking bays in other parts of the city.

Levi Day experiences GP action

Mount Gambier motorcycle ace Levi Day had a baptism of fire in his brush with the world’s best 125cc riders at Phillip Island last weekend.

Racing at the Island in one of the curtain raiser events to the Australian MotoGP Grand Prix, which forms a leg of the world title, Day was able to brush shoulders with some of the highest profile riders in the sport, including Valetino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo.
