Hot DVD sparks shed fire

A shed fire caused by the ignition of a DVD player in Ingram Street, Mount Burr, on Tuesday morning caused about $2000 of damage.
Mount Burr CFS attended the scene and the Millicent brigade was stop called as the shed owners were quickly alerted to the blaze and put it out themselves around 3.50am. Read more
White roo spotted near Mount Burr

A rare white kangaroo was seen near Mount Burr just after dawn on Monday.
It is believed to have been an albino and was spotted at 6.45am.
The kangaroo was seen near the junction of the Millicent-Mount Burr Road and the road leading to the Mount Burr golf course. Read more

Big cat theory debunked

A local man has challenged the big cat theory and wants to set the record straight on last week’s report in which Mount Burr resident Fred van der Heul claimed a big cat had mauled a sheep in the forest.
Arthur Kelm, of Rocky Camp, has urged residents to think about the facts, or “lack thereof”, surrounding the reports of dead livestock and kangaroos. Read more
