Macdonald clears pack to claim Mail Medal

Dominant ruckman Will Macdonald has become just the third Port MacDonnell player to win the Mid South East Football League’s highest individual honour, the Mail Medal.
Macdonald polled 20 votes in the medal count, held at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre on Friday, August 20. Read more
Pies continue march towards premiership

Kalangadoo’s second step of the 2010 Mid South East Football League season towards erasing a nine year premiership drought was completed with relative ease on Sunday.
The Magpies coasted home to a 29 point 1st semi-final victory against Glencoe at Kongorong before a crowd which paid a healthy $10,000 at the gate. Read more
Mossies coach breaks 14 year drought

First year Mount Burr coach Mark Kruger is the first Mossie to win the Mid South East Football League goalkicking for 14 years.
Kruger booted 64 goals from 16 roster games and finished eight ahead of teammate, Adam Wiese. Read more
Canaries to sing again

Although a ball in anger hasn’t been kicked by a Tarpeena player for more than five years, the Canaries still exist and later this year will relive their glory days.
The Tarpeena Football Club is planning premiership reunions of its victorious 1961 and 1974 Mid South East Football League teams and has issued an open invitation to anyone remotely associated with the club. Read more
Saints march towards finals

The Saints have marched a step closer to a finals berth with a win over Glencoe in round 11 of the Mid South East Football League 2010 season.
Nangwarry edged home by four points in front of its home crowd to draw level with Glencoe on points, sitting just outside the top four by a mere 2.06pc.
Port MacDonnell played as if it hadn’t missed the past two weekends of football, smashing Hatherleigh by 97 points while both Kalangadoo and Kongorong enjoyed comfortable victories. Read more
MSE plans pre-season competition

The Mid South East Football League has announced plans to launch a pre-season competition in 2010.
At its annual meeting held recently, returned president Peter Mitchell said the one-day tournament would be held at Mount Burr two weeks before the season commencing. Read more

Kalangadoo has reappointed Chris Mules as playing coach for 2010 and Nangwarry has chosen 2007 Mail Medallist Brett Lindner as its mentor.
Magpies president Nick Pratt said his committee was delighted to secure the services of Mules for a second season. Read more
