New rock band set for debut

A new rock band is about to make its presence known on Mount Gambier’s live music scene this weekend as one of the region’s top duos becomes a four-piece.
After more than 3000 live gigs around Australia, Terry Sutherland and Jool, who have long performed as Trespass, have put together their first full outfit since the late ‘80s, when their band Fair Warning rocked the South East and some of Adelaide’s top venues. Read more
Final gig for Blame Johnny

One of Mount Gambier’s leading rock acts will play their final performance this weekend as they prepare to disband at the end of the year.
Blame Johnny has performed at hotels and other venues throughout the region, opening for The Screaming Jets and Butterfly Effect at the showgrounds and providing a local presence alongside national acts at the Blue Lake Blues and Roots Festival. Read more
MC creates Streamlyne to the top

Mount Gambier emcee and writer Josh Lynagh — who goes under the stage name Streamlyne — is receiving national attention thanks to a website developed to expose unsigned artists.
Lynagh continues to evoke a range of emotion from his listeners on Triple J Unearthed and recently had three songs featured in the top five on the national hip hop chart. Read more

Flanagans debut for Dead End Kids

A new sound on the Mount Gambier music scene will be heard this Saturday night when the Dead End Kids perform their debut show at Flanagans Irish Pub.
Although harking back to sounds of the past, the trio aims to add a new groove to old songs with a line-up featuring vocalists and guitarists John “Buggo” King and Mark “Spinner” Georgeson, along with bassist Tim Mansell. Read more

Admella wins Battle of the Bands

Members of Mount Gambier five-piece Admella rushed from work to the Shadows stage last Friday night to perform a solid half hour set and take out the top band award at the city’s annual Battle of the Bands.
The new wave hardcore metal band, featuring 22 year old vocalist Jacob Bradley, 17 year olds Tom Wilson on guitar and Nathan Wilson on bass, 19 year old Gavin Robertson on guitar and 28 year old drummer Steve Davis, won a PA system from Dale Cleves Yamaha for their efforts. Read more
