Pegler calls for seven-day fire service

Independent candidate for Mount Gambier Don Pegler has vowed to fight for the city’s Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) to be staffed seven days a week.
Mr Pegler said the Mount Gambier MFS was one of the busiest stations in South Australia and warranted similar staffing levels as Adelaide. Read more
Pegler pushes rail corridor development

Independent candidate for Mount Gambier Don Pegler has called for a master plan for the vacant rail corridor that could include a central bus depot and possible links with an indoor aquatic centre on Margaret Street.
Unveiling his vision for the rail corridor precinct, Mr Pegler suggested a community-owned hydrotherapy pool could also be incorporated into the aquatic centre. Read more
Pegler pledges to fix dangerous intersection

Pegler slams French seafood tour snub

Grant district mayor Don Pegler has described the State Government’s decision to snub the Limestone Coast from a regional tour of top French chefs as “atrocious”.
This follows revelations the South East — which is home to the largest rock lobster fleet in the southern hemisphere — has been left out of the tour that will showcase regionally produced seafood and wine products. Read more
