Mourners farewell Allan Scott

More than 1200 people joined Mount Gambier’s Scott family yesterday to farewell South Australian business icon Allan Scott AO.

The congregation overflowed from the Mount Gambier Presbyterian Church, filling both the church hall and a large marquee, with the service transmitted to both via large screens. Read more

Premier leads tributes to Allan Scott

Mount Gambier mourns Allan Scott

Mount Gambier is mourning the death of local trucking magnate and businessman Allan Scott AO, OAM.

Mr Scott, 85, died in the Mount Gambier Hospital today after a short illness. He died peacefully as members of his family took turns in an around-the-clock bedside vigil. Read more

Trucking magnate announces appointment

Leading Mount Gambier businessman Mr Allan Scott AO has announced the appointment of Bruce Grubb to assume the day-to-day responsibilities and management of all aspects of the Scott Group of Companies.

Scott Corp declares dividend

The Scott Corporation limited (SCC:AX) has declared a fully franked interim dividend of one cent per ordinary share.

The record date will be April 4 with payment on April 25.

The company reported an 11.7 percent increase in net profit after tax to $1.628 million for the year ending December 31, 2007.

The company continued to expand and improve its equipment fleet across the country, spending $8.662 million in the year. The company reported new contracts in the Northern Territory and Newcastle.
