Council criticises SES ‘gobbledygook’

A Grant district councillor has described a letter from SES headquarters over its plan to relocate two senior Mount Gambier employees to Murray Bridge as “gobbledygook”.

Cr Alan Hill said he read the letter from SA SES chief officer Stuart Macleod five times and still did not get a grasp of what he was saying. Read more

The State Emergency Service has announced a “strategic realignment” that will see two Mount Gambier operations personnel transferred to Murray Bridge.

CFS volunteers unhappy with new HQ

Mount Gambier’s new Country Fire Service headquarters is currently a lacklustre facility, according to Operations Brigade Lieutenant Richard Harry, who has had “a gutful of bureaucratic crap”.

Mr Harry’s complaint arose following what he described as a “fat cats dinner” earlier this week, when a dozen dignitaries, including chief officer Euan Ferguson, came to Mount Gambier for a tour of the new facility. Read more
