More than 1200 people joined Mount Gambier’s Scott family yesterday to farewell South Australian business icon Allan Scott AO.

The congregation overflowed from the Mount Gambier Presbyterian Church, filling both the church hall and a large marquee, with the service transmitted to both via large screens. Read more

Brave cancer battle ends

The Mount Gambier community is today mourning the loss of Matthew Dowling, who touched the hearts of many with his inspirational and courageous fight against cancer.

The 20-year-old motor mechanic died at the Mount Gambier Hospital on Monday following a two year struggle with the disease. Read more

Mount Gambier is mourning the death of local trucking magnate and businessman Allan Scott AO, OAM.

Mr Scott, 85, died in the Mount Gambier Hospital today after a short illness. He died peacefully as members of his family took turns in an around-the-clock bedside vigil. Read more
