PORT MacDonnell resident Ken Jones continues to play a key role in preserving the environment around the South East with his involvement in the Southern Ocean Coastcare Group.

Living most of his life around the Limestone Coast, Mr Jones began his mission to protect the natural world at a young age.

Becoming a leader in his field, Mr Jones received the Conservation Council SA Unsung Hero Award last year, honouring 50 years of commitment to the environment.

"I've always been interested in caring for the country, removing litter off beaches and monitoring migrating shore birds," he said.
