ONE of the region's motorcycle enthusiasts has taken part in a ride to Alice Springs to raise awareness for men battling depression.

Beachport resident Kym Elson was the only rider from the region to participate in the Back to Alice Ride across the country, riding solo to Port Augusta then meeting up with other members.

Seventeen riders from all around the country took part in the journey.

There were options to either depart from Melbourne or Sydney to meet in Port Augusta and travel to Coober Pedy, ending the journey in Alice Springs.
