Break blunder hits home

AN ELDERLY Mount Gambier driver who apparently confused the accelerator and brake pedals of his car caused a gaping hole in a neighbour's home after rear-ending the front wall of the house from across the street.

In a strange turn of events yesterday afternoon, the driver was in the process of reversing his car from his Cardinia Street driveway when he accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.

His car raced backwards across the street and smashed into the opposite house.
