A PROMINENT business leader has expressed disappointment that some businesses were closed over the Easter tourism period despite the thousands of visitors flowing into Mount Gambier.
This follows some residents voicing their disapproval on social media over the busy long weekend with one commentator describing Mount Gambier as being in the "dark ages".
According to reports, a number of tourists were heard complaining over the lack of coffee shops open particularly on Easter Saturday.
But other people stood by the business operators, arguing the need for family time and the financial burden of hefty penalty rates.
