A REGIONAL drug and alcohol services campaigner has called on the community to rally together to raise funds to reopen a mothballed rehabilitation centre near Naracoorte.

Kate Amoroso - who has not ruled out running for the Nick Xenophon Team in the March state election - says the community is desperate to see a "turning point" in the city's growing ice scourge.

The community advocate, who has formed a Drug/Alcohol Community Action Group, said the community needed to put pressure on both state and federal government for funding.

"We need something down here, more services and a rehabilitation centre - we just need funding," Ms Amoroso said.
