THE Scott Group of Companies Gold Cup Carnival has been labelled a stunning success with thousands of racegoers enjoying a day of premier racing and social frivolity.
While the Mount Gambier Racing Club was still crunching the numbers yesterday, it is understood crowd numbers were marginally up from last year.
This upward swing has been described as a positive outcome given shrinking crowd numbers at other racing carnivals.
Club president John Fartch said the two-day carnival was a great success given the quality of the racing and solid crowd numbers.
