PRIME Minister Malcolm Turnbull toured the new Headspace Mount Gambier facility yesterday during his short visit to the city.

The facility, located at the former Civic Video site on Commercial Street East, is under construction and will be the service's permanent site.

The prime minister was accompanied by Member for Barker Tony Pasin and directed by Headspace staff and volunteers throughout the tour.

Mr Turnbull visited the site following the announcement of an $115m investment in mental health programs, services and research in the federal budget.
